Sophie Lopez

Sophie Lopez began her career at British GQ, where her styling work landed on several covers of the magazine’s famous annual Men of the Year issue. She has since done costume design and styling work for a diverse array of clients including Kings of Leon, Jesse J, NYLON, Range Rover, Samsung and, famously, Kate Hudson. We asked Sophie about her style and exciting career.

How would you describe your creative vision?

I love color, first and foremost. And I think my style is often unexpected. It always depends on the client, but I love to mix and match things in an unusual way.

Tell us about a favorite styling memory.

I think I’d have to say Kate Hudson at the 2014 Academy Awards. It was my first Oscars! It was a long, difficult decision process, and we had a number of gorgeous gowns to choose from. It was sort of a last minute choice, but we went with a stunning, custom Atelier Versace gown, and Kate looked incredible.

How do the Kingsley Rowe frames you chose reflect your personal style?

They’re slightly retro, which is always a part of my look. They’re memorable… they’re a bit of a statement.
